Readily winter-warm in Winter and Cool in Summer Warmth and lack of draught in a house improves its livability and lessen the energy costs. A Nordic Breeze house can cut the owner's heating by a third or even a half. A Special "K" value is used to tell how much warmth a wall lets through. The smaller the figure, the smaller the proportion of warmth wasted. The walls of Nordic Breeze thermo log houses have 120 mm or 170 mm of thermal insulation inside. The K -value of these kinds of walls are excellent: 0,22 W/m<K for 170 mm insulation and 0,31 W/m<K for 120 mm insulation. Nordic Breeze thermo log homes are fully suitable for all year-round residences without additional insulation. Nordic Breeze houses rapidly reach even room temperature even if it has been unheated in winter conditions as is often the case with vacation homes. The inverse occurs during the summer months reducing air conditioning costs significantly.
High-quality material The wood we use is close-grained red pine of Northern Finland. Log corners are heart timber.
Draught less and soundproof walls A windbreak board, used within a wall, prevents wind from blowing through the thermal insulation. The thick thermal insulation acts also as superb sound insulation.
No cracks or splits Massive log walls split and crack most of the time. The cracks inside collect dirt and dust. Outside they get filled with water which can cause rot and mould damage over the years. These frustrating problems does not appear in the walls of Nordic Breeze homes.
